While filming life underwater, Dean Spraakman had no idea that his footage of a great white shark would become such an important topic, reports National Geographic. An underwater photographer and videographer on his channel Sea Dragon Films posted a video showing a three-meter-long creature whose entire right side of its body, from the tip of its nose to the end of its fins, is covered in scars and cuts. His video was provoked by numerous comments on social networks where they agreed that it is especially important to react if the cause is a human injury. Sparkman stated that his assumption that the "main culprit" for the scars on the shark's body is the propeller of a large ship or the tuna cage in which sharks often get stuck. - However, while I was filming him swimming, I noticed that some scars were old and some were fresh, he added and stated that it confused him even more. Spraakman posted the video in January, but it went viral this week. Great white sharks are the largest predatory fish in the world. Their torpedo-shaped bodies allow them to reach speeds of 56 km/h. Only about 5,500 are estimated to remain in Australian waters.
